On this day April 26th in 1923, the marriage took place of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI) and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother).
The marriage took place in Westminster Abbey. They had two daughters, Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and her sister, Princess Margaret.
King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Margaret, are all buried in the George VI Chapel in the NQA of St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
